JFM: Nihongo Teachers’ Brush-up Course (Module 3)

Pursuant to the implementation of one of the many provisions of the recently concluded Japan-Philippine joint statement, the Japan Foundation, Manila announces the opening of the 3rd Module of the special course for Filipino Nihongo Teachers based in the Philippines.

The course, consisting of 4 Modules, each lasting 8 weeks (16 meetings / 32 hours), aims to address among others the various needs of the Filipino Nihongo teacher such as:

1. to improve one’s Japanese language ability (Kanji, Vocabulary, Listening, Reading, Writing/Composition, Conversation)
2. to improve one’s overall knowledge of the Japanese language (grammatical patterns, Japanese sound system, expressions of politeness and formality)
3. to be updated on the various teaching methods and approaches

The 3rd Module that starts on July 10, 2007 will cover topics such as Cross Cultural Issues, Talking about the Future as well as How to Teach Listening, Reading and Speaking.

The tuition is PhP 3,000.00 per Module. Class will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:20 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at our newly opened multi-purpose room on the ground floor of the Pacific Star Building in Makati.

Applicants must be active Nihongo teachers and who have a Nihongo ability of at least JLPT Level 3 equivalent or higher.

An initial Nihongo level check test will be conducted by appointment from June 25 to July 6 at the Japan Foundation Manila office between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 pm. Applicants who have sent in their duly accomplished reservation forms are requested to contact JFM (c/o Ms. C. E. J. Aquino) as soon as possible to confirm their availability/appointment for the said Nihongo level check test.

Other interested parties are requested to submit their reservation forms on or before Friday –22 June. Reservation forms are available on the Japan Foundation Manila website http://www.jfmo.org.ph/ or it can be requested to be sent thru fax by calling telephone # 811-6155.
