As much as we’d like na kumita, non profit ang organization na ito
Kung alam niyo lang ang gastos sa pagreserve ng bar, pagprint ng marketing media, pagbigay ng raffle at goodie bags sana maintindihan ninyo.
kung kumikita kami sana magaganda na gamit namin or may sariling band setup (take note OS branded drums oh yeah.. OS customized guitars olrayt!) ang mga OS bands kapag tumutugtog. Pero wala po.
Kaya nga lang namin ito ginagawa dahil gusto namin hindi mawala yung community na mahilig sa jap music at sa mga bandang tumutugtog ng japanese music.
Mahirap din mag organize ng event - limited ang time na reserved ng bar (kaya kami naglilimit sa bands na kukunin), puyat ka na , pagod ka pa at lahat kami may mga trabaho pa. Sana naman naintindihan niyo yun.
Sorry just had to let this out, kasi isa ako sa nagpapakahirap para bigyan ang community ng well-organized na event., And comments like these just make me feel, i dunno, kung worth it ba yung pagpapakapagod ko sa mga taong ganito. -_-“”

@jimmy nakapasa po kmi sa audition before at nakatugtog nung last OS event so it means na sure slot na rin po kmi dis upcoming event ng OS!?? thnx
For this event, preselection process po ang gagawin ng OS. Auditions might be held for the next gigs. Usually inaannounce namin yun 1-2 months before the Ongaku event itself. Nood pa rin kayo ng OS event at least malalaman niyo yung process and flow ng mga events, and to support fellow musicians and japanese music lovers alike.
Preselection means bands na naging okay ang performance with the past OS events, and of course we are very strict with set-up time (kasi malaking factor yun, as much as possible hindi pwede madelay ang event kung hindi malaki ang babayaran sa bar reservation) :S

There will be a cosplay competition and rules will be announced soon.
Para sa kaalaman ng iba, ang funds ng OS ay napupunta sa mga sumusunod (quick breakdown):
- Pagpapagig twice/trice a year (bar rental, collaterals, etc..)
- Pagbabayad ng website. OO! itong forums na tinitignan mo ngayon.
- Pagbabayad sa pagpapa-audition [studio rental (4-5 hours/2 days), food and transpo ng judges]
- Pagbabayad sa booth ng OS kapag may mga conventions.
- Pagfund sa food and transpo ng ibang banda kapag pinapatugtog sila sa ibang convention na dala ang pangalan ng OS.
- Pagpapagawa ng mga OS merchandise (T-shirt, ID, etc..)
Ngayon, kumikita ba kame? Hindi, kase umiikot lang ang pera. Abunado pa nga kung minsan eh. Ewan ko ba kung bakit pinapahirapan pa namin ang sarili namin. Kagaguhan ‘to.
Hindi pro ang mga tao dito. At lalong hindi pro ang mga mods dito. Amateur lang kame at wala kaming say sa music industry. Hindi din kasi malaking org ang OS na kayang supportahan lahat ng J-Music banda na gusto tumugtog. Limitado lang ang kaya naming gawin at lalong lalo na yung kaya naming i-provide.
Ginagawa namin to kahit hindi kami kumikita at nakakapagod pa. Lahat ng pera eh pinapaikot lang para tuloy tuloy lang ang org na to, lalong lalo ang site na to na pinakabuhay ng org na to.
Kung kumikita kami, edi sana nakapagprovide na kami ng event na hindi na kelangan magbayad ng entrance every event. Hindi naman pwedeng sa sariling bulsa namin siya hugutin.

ugh i honestly didn’t see this post earlier as i tend to ignore the words of idiots, but that is the last straw! i’ve just spent a good hour of my time—time i could’ve used doing something else more important—cleaning up this moron’s messes in the other threads. and then i come across this -.-;;
you need a time-out, mister man. fourteen days off the forums should do you some good.

the notification e-mails have been sent. we’re just waiting for the preselected bands to confirm, then we move on to the waitlisted bands (in case there are slots still available). thanks for asking and we hope to see you at the gig!
All I can say is that, I’d like to thank O.S. Why? Because O.S. gives freedom for a musician like me who is inclined to some musical genres which only few people appreciate.
O.S. breaks the language barriers which give musicians like me a freedom to play and express my love to the types of music that I do really love.
Easy lang po mam Magnetic_rose hehe! Tinawanan na nga lang po ni mam VIRjill yang post na iyan ^_^... Honestly, I’m still NEWBIE pag dating sa SOCIETY na ito saka sa mga J-MUSIC… My band MEZZOFORTE introduced this kind of music to my ears. And i’m really thanking them for that, saka sa friendship syempre ^_^ ... Sa O.S. din for thier warm welcome and unconditional supports and concerns sa mga katulad natin na may passion sa ganitong music. To Administrators and Moderators Keep up the good work, sa ngayon po eh pag suporta at pag iintindi lang ang masusukli ko. Para sa mga ginagawa po nyo na ikagaganda at ikasasaya ng bawat isa na kasali sa site na ito…... Mabuhay po kayong lahat!!! And i’m really looking forward to help you and my fellow forumites, para sa pag gawa ng gigs at sa pag hahanap ng bars and sponsors in the near future ^_^ More Power and God bless!

on being professional musicians, i’d rather not be called/labelled as one. just think of how punk became mainstream.
oh, and isn’t “how OS bands being pros” a bit off-topic? sorry. one last thing. the pro status could even lead the band to the event’s theme—breakup. band breakups seem to be less about the music than it is about the money. woo… on-topic. *laughs*
