for the people who’ve been asking me on and offline, i have some news on the ANIMAX event slated today, held at the HOTEL PHILIPPINE PLAZA. unfortunately for many ANIMAX fans, the event is for industry only and you have to be invited to get in (buwiset nga lang at late dumating yung invite ko, siyempre me previous chorva na ko with hazel and toby ^^v ).
it was more of a meeting and company presentation for people in the broadcast industry and not an anime con. having said that though, several bands were invited to play, but tehy were mainly indie pinoy bands like BOY ELROY and DAY ONE MOVEMENT. so yeah, there you have it—sorry po sa mga hindi namin natulungan ^^;;
i’m really not surprised because it is a singapore-based company and not local, so they really have very little idea of what’s going on with the local scene. having said that though, let’s still keeep supporting the channel because most (but not all ^^;; ) of their local events were well received and fun in their own way…
definitely big budget since they could afford getting a hotel ballroom to host it in, plus food and entertainment; maganda din yung laman ng goodie bag nila (na thankfully natabihan parin ako kahit na ala ako dun ^^v): a t-shirt, caps (one blue, one white), a light-up pen, and assorted posters.
