Attention, all Japanese pop music-inspired artists in Metro Manila! OngakuSociety is now accepting song-and-dance group and band applications for audition slots to perform at the next major OS event slated for October 2008!
To participate in the auditions, submit the following information to admin[at]ongaku[dash]society[dot]org:
- Group/Band Name
- Member Line-Up*
- Musical Influences
- Contact Information (mobile phone number and e-mail address)
- Official Website / Mailing List / Forums
- Preferred Audition Date (September 20 or 21)
*We require complete disclosure of the names and positions of band members; only the given and last names of the individual members (plus known aliases or online handles) will be accepted. Bands who fail to declare all the members of their line-ups or withold information on the identity of their band members will be disqualified from the auditions.
Auditioning bands must prepare at most three (3) songs: one Japanese track, one RE:MIX track (any song re-arranged or re-mixed by the band—please do not do a straight cover of a song re-arranged by another artist, as this will be grounds for disqualification), and one song of their choice (original compositions are allowed).
We’ve got good news for musicians with multiple bands! Individual musicians are now allowed to audition as members of two different bands, under several conditions.
- He is a member of a maximum of two bands auditioning/performing for OngakuSociety.
- These two bands should not feature almost identical line-ups**.
- These two bands should not feature almost identical set-lists.
** Three or more members of one band cannot be members of another band together; if this is the case then only one band will be allowed to performs or audition, while the other band will be asked to step down. Bands who fail to declare all the members of their line-ups or withold information on the identity of their band members will be disqualified from the auditions.
Lastly, we’d like to congratulate several bands and groups who have been pre-selected for performance slots at the October gig! Bands and groups who have performed extremely well at any of our previous events should look out for e-mail notifications direct from the OS mods. If your band or group has been pre-selected, kindly send a return e-mail to us for confirmation of your performance slot.

ask ko lng kung yung mga nakapagperform na sa last event ng OS nung fresh meet at on the block eh nid pa rin bang mag-audition para makasama sa up coming event?? thnx poh

@ ceresallan: If you are a new band that performed during the OS fresh meet, it does not automatically mean that they will also be performing for our upcomoing event ... unless they received a formal invitation from the OS organizers
