Six up-and-coming bands take to the stage to strut their stuff, while six more hard-rocking mainstay acts show the new kids how it's really done. Welcome to Ongaku Project, where Ongaku Society takes the kids to school!
Local J-pop scenesters trouped en masse to Harmony Bar Greenhills to witness the latest and so far the best OS gig ever. Ongaku Project -- Ongaku Society's 4th major bar gig, was organized with the support of HERO TV, UP AME, and Lights Out: Philippine Yaoi Convention, who helped us put together piles of freebies, prizes, auction items, and more beer than your school ever let you drink in one class.
To promote the old school, new school vibe, Ongaku Society brought to the stage six of the newest J-pop acts to hit the local scene. Himitsu Heiki, New Fallen Snow, Yumbuh!, Ethereal Anthem, Shake Well Before Using, and Paradoxical Review rocked hard to prove that the next generation of J-pop bands won't let the mainstays hog all the credit.
Nearly three hundred screaming fans can't be wrong though, as they packed it in to see their favorite mainstay acts. Cementing their claim as still the biggest and toughest acts to beat, Neotaku, Progeny, tRANCE, Yaoi Senshi Mantoman, Do 'Ahou, and 0% OFF taught the newbies a thing or two on what it takes to really bring the house down at the OS gigs.
It won't be a real OS gig if it didn't have a twist, and this summer's Project was to cover Japanese pop music tracks! SWEET SOUL REVIEW, UNDO, and a host of other karaoke bar and anime opening theme staples were rendered in each band's unique style.
Missed everything? Then make sure you don't cut the next major OS gig coming up in October! Class is dismissed!
